Nearly every return we review has a problem.

When Peyton started helping small business owners on the side, he found that nearly every return he reviewed was wrong — missed deductions, depreciation errors, owner pay handled incorrectly, or the wrong entity on paper. Those mistakes cost real money year after year.

Tax Pilot prepares business and individual returns with the same rigor used on Fortune 500 tax teams. Because we understand the trades, we know where the deductions are: vehicles and mileage, tools and equipment, home office, health insurance for S-corp owners, retirement contributions and more.

Returns we prepare

  • S corporation returns (Form 1120-S) and owner K-1s
  • Partnership and multi-member LLC returns (Form 1065)
  • Sole proprietors and single-member LLCs (Schedule C)
  • Individual and joint returns for business owners (Form 1040)
  • Georgia returns, plus Tennessee filings for businesses with operations there
  • Extensions, amended returns and responses to IRS and state notices
Want lower taxes next year, not just a filed return? Pair tax prep with year-round tax planning so the return reflects decisions made with taxes in mind.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you prepare personal returns for business owners?

Yes. We prepare individual returns for our business clients, coordinated with the business return so income, owner pay and deductions line up.

Can you file an extension for me?

Yes. An extension gives more time to file, not more time to pay, so we'll estimate any balance due and help you pay it on time.

I got a letter from the IRS. Can you help?

Yes. Send us the notice through the client portal and we'll review it, explain what it means and help prepare a response.

Can you fix mistakes on returns another preparer filed?

In many cases, yes. We review prior returns and can file amended returns to correct errors or claim missed deductions where the law allows.

Do I have to come into the office?

No. Most clients upload documents through our secure client portal and meet by phone or video. You're always welcome to meet with us in Jasper.
